Cookies are small files stored on your device. We keep them to a minimum and group them as follows:

Strictly necessary

Needed for the site to work and to remember your choices. These include a preference cookie for your light/dark theme and a record of your cookie consent. They do not track you and are always on.

The same group covers a small amount of browser storage used only to avoid repeating things you have already answered: whether you dismissed, accepted or simply never answered the “add to home screen” offer, how many times it has been shown, and a per-visit page counter that stops it appearing on the first page you open. Together these are what stop the offer being repeated at you: it is shown at most twice a visit and six times in total, then never again. These are read and written on your device only, are never sent anywhere, and hold no identifier.

Analytics (optional)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful. Under Google Consent Mode, without your consent it runs in a cookieless mode (no _ga identifier is stored); only after you consent does it set analytics cookies such as _ga. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland this choice is collected by Google's certified consent message.

Advertising (optional)

When advertising is enabled, ad partners (e.g. Google AdSense) may use cookies to serve and measure ads. On first visit you can accept or reject these; we apply Google Consent Mode so that, without consent, ad and analytics storage stays disabled.

Managing cookies

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie settings control (also in the banner on first visit), or by clearing cookies in your browser. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may break parts of the site.
